TASK 1 5/01/21

Task 1: how does Emmet come across? How effective would this trailer be in promoting the film?

Emmet is presented as a normal guy with nothing special about him. We see him perform star jumps which he struggles with after only 2. We also see him following an instruction manual which shows he doesn't think for himself. This could be a direct comparison to our current society and how people always follow trends to find a way to fit in. later on we see him pay an extortionate amount for coffee. As a class we discussed how someone more important may have complained about that rather than putting up with it.

This trailer would be very effective because it takes a popular brand across all ages and turns it into a fun movie. The bright colours are especially attractive and its annoyingly catchy theme song keeps this on peoples mind for days on end.
